Hello from southwestern Montana
I have been in southwestern Montana for three years now...just outside the north entrance of Yellowstone...It is an amazing place here and I am excited to get back to gardening after many years. It is requiring a lot of research as we have a very small yard space and the wildlife is abundant - elk, mule deer, bison, antelope, bear. I planted a few flowers last year and most were eaten as they bloomed (and our yard is fenced!)! Look forward to any ideas about wildlife deterrents along with gardening in a very small space...

Welcome Mossmanhill!
I hope you get a chance to read All New Square Foot Gardening by Mel Bartholomew (2006). If you do a search for critter cages in the upper left search box on the forum, you should find some ideas for keeping critters at bay. I recall one member actually built a cage around her entire garden including the top to keep critters out.
Again, welcome! If you get a chance post pics of your progress. We love pictures!

I don't know how to say it without being crude but I hear urine can help.
