Planted today in KC
Planted cauliflower, swiss chard, and onion sets. Seeded the following:
Carrot - Davnver's Half Long and Scarlet Nantes
Beet - Detroit Red and Early Wonder
Lettuce - Rossimo, Bibb, and Baby Romaine
Radish - Early Scarlet Globe
Sugar Sanp Peas - Oregon Sugar Pod II
Prepared Mels Mix and 6 box grids yesterday evening. Trellis' will go up when the peas germinate.

planting
It's the proper time here in KC for the early stuff...plus it was 80+ degrees this past weekend and I needed to get out and do something. I had to fight the urge to overplant...leaving some squares open for successive plantings of lettuce, radish, etc. and future summer crops (beans, peppers, flowers, herbs).
I think that I can get a good harvest of peas in before the tomatoes need to climb the same trellis...we'll just have to see how it goes.

seeding
I was impressed with Mel's Mix and it's ability to hold moisture...I watered the soil lightly and it did well through 80 degrees and 20 mph winds all day long.
