Germination, Domes, and Seedlings Empty Germination, Domes, and Seedlings

I had a great idea for germination and seedlings in my indoor nursery setup, but that also came during the heat of the moment and excitement at the SUPER DUPER garden store.

It's winter still here in Michigan, it is mild, and I am hoping for an early last spring frost to get going for my TT Beds! I have 3 trays for my indoor germination and seedling system, but have purchased some 7" domes with vents this year. I am hoping to nurse the plants a little longer inside a heated environment. I have read mixed views on lighting with domes and without domes and just wanted to get some insight from all my SFG experts here on the forum.

Right now,

2 11x22 trays with 7" domes for germination. I have a temperature controller on the seedling mat and its at a steady 80 degrees, and the humidity in the one dome being used is perfect.

I intend on using the open tray with dome to nurse my seedlings with a dome light setup just above the humidity dome since the higher grade plastic will diffuse the UV light as the sprouts grow up into their true selves.

Any thoughts or feedback here?

Germination, Domes, and Seedlings Empty Re: Germination, Domes, and Seedlings

Strawberry, blueberry, and cherry tomato containers, The clear plastic containers that you can buy salad in at the salad bar, clear plastic covered cupcake containers. Most have slits in them for air. I've used them all to make mini greenhouses for seed starting. I set peat pellets (or soil blocks) in them, soaked them well, planted and sealed the container, set it on a heat mat and waited for the spouts to appear. After sprouting and some growth, take the lids off. If solid (no air holes), the lids can be used as water trays.
