I am going to grow this cuc this year and hope the disease restance is as good as reported. Have any of you grown them and or have a favorite that resists PM, DM, and CMV. I loved the ones I got off my Tastey Jade last year but the vines did not last long due to one mildew or another.Evil or Very Mad

UCDAVIS.EDU

The above link from UC,Davis, indicates that the gynoecious type of cucumber requires pollination from another variety of cucumber.

It also lists Sweet Success as being resistant to many types of disease.

I have never grown this variety.

Thanks FBM I have read you get cucs either way but had planned on growing a OP type as well to get the biggest bang for the space. This year I am planning on entering the county's organic veg contest just for fun as my garden is only a shade bigger than a poastage stamp. LOL the cuc.s will be planted in 2 matching planters of MM with an arching trelis between them. I think they will cover it and look very nice indead. That's the plan anyway.

I'll try and post pics if it works out that is. They won't be beds I have such limited space being an apartment dweller. Another reason I love SFG. I'm very lucky to have a supportive landlord. Giving him tomatos might have some thing to do with his attiude.
