Growing Potatoes in old car tyres

Any help, advice suggestions would be wellcome I would love to get this right!

I just read up on potatoes: on the SFG main page under "What is SFG", then in the box, click the sign that says "Mels Columns" Under "Vegetables" tab there's a great article about how to grow potatoes. I never had good luck with them before and now i know why. (I'm sure in another hour or two I'd have figured out how to copy and paste all that here... but as we're finding out, I'm not a good navigator.)
