boffer...here is the starwberry stand I was telling you about
Here is a picture of the strawberry stand I was telling you about that my husband made for me. I will fill it with Mel's mix tomorrow. It's still cold here, first warm day and I'm going to fluff the gardens up and add some compost.

Well how clever is that! I like it.
The image I had from your description was seriously off-base!
Tell your husband 2 thumbs up from a fellow saw dust maker!

Strawberry stand
Fantastic structure.
I now know what I am doing this winter - making one of those. My strawberries are lost in the herb garden.
The pictures are so much better on the new forum.
Cheers Ray

Re: boffer...here is the starwberry stand I was telling you about
thanks again for sharing that link! is that your link or is it just something you found on the 'net?
i'm gonna recruit the husband to help me with it -he's much better at using our hand held tools than i am. and he is good at it!
i think that could make the neatest center focal point in our garden - and will design our garden boxes accordingly so that will be part of the long term plan.

The plans are not mine, I just found them on the web. My husband is retired, but I'm not, so I feel I must always find him something to do with his time...

oh, cool still!
i wasn't sure if it was ok to publicly share that link til i got ok, so very neat that you found them and even better that you shared your knowledge -
would love to know how many plants per row, though - is it same as using 1x4's that mel suggests in his books/videos? (if you haven't seen his videos you should look for them - i found them at local library - video tape not sure if folks have vcrs anymore though)
