Re: MatthewCast (St. Louis Weather)
I find it funny that not only do I watch my forecast but also watch the radar (via the TV only) for the St. Louis area and then come check this thread! LOL We normally get your weather a few days later but this next batch of storms is coming from north of you.

Re: MatthewCast (St. Louis Weather)
And, if you check the records for yesterday......no rain. So much for 60% overnight. Even the chief meteorologist, usually really good, missed that one. He said he thought something would develop after midnight as late as the 10pm newscast....nope.
Good job, Matthew.

Re: MatthewCast (St. Louis Weather)
Overnight it actually rained a quarter of an inch. Matthew wasn't any bouncier than usual the past couple days. This one slipped by him. Matthew 3 - Wxmen 1.

Re: MatthewCast (St. Louis Weather)
Gotta admit it. MatthewCast must be down for repairs lately. He sort of missed another. We really had no indication that we would get rain this morning, and it's raining pretty good. But, the good thing is....neither did the weathermen. This type of surprise is usually Matthew's strong suit.
Maybe I need to get that kid some homegrown tomatoes or a side of beans to revitalize the "radar?"

Matthew and the kids got going today. Looks like it may rain Tuesday around here. Let's hope it's a soaker....we need more than .25" at a time. (Altough, just south of us got 4" Saturday morning.)

We've been getting the soakers - and my first and only tomato with a blush of color split today - a Purple Russian paste that split from top to bottom - ACK! It was perfect yesterday morning. BOO HOO! We could use the 1/4 inchers instead of the 5-7's followed by 90 degrees!

Well, hopefully, we take one off your hands. But, you can keep the 90° stuff.

Re: MatthewCast (St. Louis Weather)
It looks like we ARE keeping it - supposed to be 95 here tomorrow. 95 a former CA gal can handle. It's the midwest steambath that goes with it that a curly-headed CA gal has problems with!BackyardBirdGardner wrote:Well, hopefully, we take one off your hands. But, you can keep the 90° stuff.

We have another week of above normal temps, too. Can't wait for a bit of a cool down, but I'm also being careful as to what I wish for.

Matthew has been "off" a bit lately. But, today he was at it again....going bananas. Looks like it will rain here Wednesday. This one I'm pretty confident in.

Re: MatthewCast (St. Louis Weather)
Looks like Matthew is getting back on track. 2+ inches yesterday! But, even the TV guys picked up on this one. So, it wasn't so shocking that Matthew was calling for rain this time.

Re: MatthewCast (St. Louis Weather)
Quick Matthew story: Yesterday his gym teacher pulls me aside. He tells me they played a basketball game called Knockout. Apparently, you make a basket and knock someone out of the game. Matthew made TWO baskets when it was his turn. According to the PE teacher, the gymnasium of kids went crazy cheering him on. I about teared up right there. So awesome!

Beautiful story, BBG, I'm so glad Matthew got to have that experience. My grandson's name is Matthew, too, so I always enjoy your mentions of your Matthew.

Re: MatthewCast (St. Louis Weather)
Matthew does it again! 10% chance of rain today, and it's raining(won't amount to more than a couple tenths...but they all count.). Both my wife and I looked at each other yesterday and the day before and said.....rain's comin'.

Re: MatthewCast (St. Louis Weather)
We definitely need Matthew's input when we are planning our hiking trips! Last trip our group was soggy (read drenched) and were all swearing we would never do this again! (next trip is in 3 weeks)BackyardBirdGardner wrote:Matthew does it again! 10% chance of rain today, and it's raining(won't amount to more than a couple tenths...but they all count.).
