Tomato help please - blight? aphids?

I posted an update in tomato Tuesday, but I thought I'd see if I could get any advice here too.

My two tomato plants in the sfg are not in great shape. The sungold
(on the left) looks better, and has some little buds, but it definitely
had aphids on it. And the ramapo (on the right) looks really rough.
I can't decide if the way they look is all because of aphids or if there's a blight or deficiency of some sort. Any suggestions? Thanks.

are any of the leaves purple on the under side?

a few of my leaves looked a bit like your....they were turning purple on the under side of a few leaves because they were to cold....now that weather has warmed up a bit...the purple has turned green and they are doing fine....

i also had two plants i had to pull and throw out.....they just never recovered....i believe i planted them out to early.....they had some blooms and were trying...but they looked so bad i thought the fruit wouldnt be any good....

other then that....im still learning here.... Very Happy

And now it's going to be 97 degrees here for two days before it cools down and we get some rain. Bah. I'm wondering if my aphid control method ended up hurting them and the leaves are just burning? It was a soap, water, oil mixture.

Thinking and reading about this some more, I'll bet I burned the plants. I didn't remember seeing anything about rinsing the leaves off afterwards. Well, here's hoping I didn't completely kill them and that they'll rebound. I'll rinse them off at lunchtime and hope for the best. I might also stop off at the local garden shop and buy another ramapo (the plant that looks the worst). I'll have an empty square when my peas are done anyway.

That is just what I use and never rinse them off. No ill affects yet. Perhaps it was just too strong. Tomato help please - blight? aphids? 601593

What kind of oil, and what proportions? Does this mix work for keeping bugs off all the plants? It looks like something is eating the leaves from my green beans.

Well, I would not do what I did again, so I'm hesitant to promote it. If I were you, I'd post a picture and have someone who's not a novice suggest something. Smile

Later this morning, after I post a couple pictures, I'm going to be asking if I should even bother trying to save the tomatoes. Sad

I take a spray bottle put a few drops of non-degreaseing dish soap, chili oil, and garlic oil (the kind you cook with) fill the bottle with water and mix. You have to keep mixing it as oil and water do not stay mixed. Never had a problem using it.

I have to say, I am stunned by how well the sungold has bounced back! I ended up not following all the advice kindly offered on the board, but left the plant in the ground and snipped off two new branches that were growing out of the root. I also snipped off all the branches that were completely withered up. Almost two weeks later, the sungold is absolutely thriving. I must have a good 15 or so tomatoes, and that doesn't count the blooms! It's all nice and green again, and shooting up like a weed. bounce

I rooted the two healthy branches I snipped off, and will probably end up planting those too.

The Roma doesn't look nearly as good, but it's got plenty of buds and three good-sized tomatoes growing, so it ain't dead yet baby. Smile

Sometimes its just best to wait a bit to see what's happening.....better, worse, etc. Mother Nature her wonders to perform can make things right again if given half a chance.
