PLEASE watch the second video first. For some reason they are posting backwards.

Re: Continuous Harvesting Method with Lettuce
I think a video is better than the back of the seed packet as you can see which leaves to pick so thanks for putting that up.
They call this "cut and come again" here. You pick a few leaves from each plant when they are 4" high and over. You can get four cuts the seed packets say but I've never counted. I pick other leaves like beet, arugula, land cress, Lamb's lettuce, oriental mustard and mizuna like this as well.
To get early salad I sow seed indoors in February in pots and stand them outside in March I can just cover at night if it's frosty and give them a regular "haircut".
There's a video about sowing in pots here

Thanks for the info. I tried this in my sunroom towards the end of winter, but I think I used way too many seeds. I am going to try again with some mesculan and an Italian blend that I have now that I've seen that video.

Agreed, thanks for the video's Stacie! I'm still trying to find the right amount of salad greens to meet my needs, only in my case, I didn't plant enough!
I'm using Zip Locks too, and wish there was a better way! In the mean time, I admit I wash and re-use them! Plastic is a big problem, the least I can do is use it as often as I can before I 'dispose' of it.
