Welcome, I don't read very much Spanish so I'm using Google translate. Do you have access to the All New Square Foot Gardening book. It is invaluable for success. I garden in a tabletop bed and I love my results. I followed the 1/3 vermiculite, 1/3 blended compost and 1/3 peatmoss recipe very carefully and have an excellent crop of green vegetables growing. However, if you are not able to get peatmoss or vermiculate in your area, then Mel says pure compost will work fine. He recommends making your own.
The people using this forum are very friendly and are always willing to help and answer questions.

Elli, are you using a translator or do you know how to write in Español?
Oh Babelfish has let me down...
babelfish...
Bienviendo! I hope that there are others can help him but that I. Not
that he is this " hidrogel" gustaria to learn but me but on the
subject, so in the south of Roofing tiles long ago heat and is
necessary here to give aqua them you plant to them daily (or even
more).
It excuses my Spanish. Not ultiliza it as I must.

No, I'm not using a translator. I don't know how to do accent marks and such when typing and that's why Babelfish isn't happy with me Well, that and a couple of typos (aqua instead of agua )!

What I mean to say is:
Welcome! I hope that there are others who can help you more than I. I don't know what this "hidrogel" is but I would like to know more about it, since here in southern Texas it's very hot and plants have to be watered daily (or even more often).
Excuse my Spanish. I don't use it as I ought.
I "think" what I wrote is fairly intelligible other than the absence of accent marks...which I really should get around to figuring out, since about a third of my FB page is in Spanish these days.

I was asking if the Hidrogel is a product that was sold in the late 80's early 90's...it looked like "swollen" silica gel globules and came in many colors...you would just plant your houseplants in that with no soil and you didn't have to water (at least hardly at all...and I mean HARDLY at all.) If indeed this is the product being referred to, I would not use it for growing my veggies/fruits....who knows what kind of chemicals are in those things...

Bienvenido Daniel!
