Where to buy worms for composting
The kids thought having a worm composting bin would be fun but the only place I've found so far that has any red wigglers is charging $3.00+ for a bag of 24 small ones. Do nurseries sell these at all? I didn't know if mail order was a smart idea or not....

Re: Where to buy worms for composting
They are sold in convenience stores as bait worms. I hear they reproduce pretty quickly, though I am not sure what that means.
Re: Where to buy worms for composting
You can buy them online by the pound. Try doing a google search for purchasing red wiggler worms in your area. Or check out this link:

Here's another.
You want to get red wigglers, which are also called red worms.

I think this is where I got mine.
