I got my chicks!
My new babies came yesterday. I got 5 new chicks, 2 Partridge Silkies, 2 Silver-Laced Wyandottes, and a Buff Orpington. I was supposed to get 2 Orpingtons but they forgot to ship one.
They are all girls but I had to name one after my Brother-in-Law, because Kevin is a silly name for an animal

Such pretty babies. Yes, their names are wonderful!
How long before they can go outside? I assume at this size they will stay in a warm box for a while.

Re: I got my chicks!
I think they will be inside for 4 to 6 weeks. They just hatched 4 or 5 days ago and they are already starting to get real feathers on their wings. So far Nugget, the tiniest one, is the most feisty.

My daughter in GA has chickens, guineas, goats, horses and a pot-bellied pig. She also has dogs, cats and cockatiels that are raised indoors, but her newest passion is a dove release program she has recently started.

Re: I got my chicks!
It should be fun! They look like you'll be able to tell them apart. Last spring we got six chicks of the same breed. They all got names, but darned if we can tell them apart!
Re: I got my chicks!
How cute they are!! I'm waiting for my babies ( not chicks) to arrive in a month.
