Parsley isn't happy

Transplanted these before it froze outside. Something isn't right.

I googled for brown edged parsley and found this site:

However, none of the problems listed there - overwatering, salty soil, rootbound, etc. seem to be compatible with plants planted in Mel's Mix. Other sites I checked said it could be due to leaf scorch, caused either by windburn or sunburn. Did yours go through any strong winds before you transplanted?

We've got strong winds on a regular basis. This showed up after I had transplanted it inside (it was planted in non Mel's Mix soil this summer).

One thing here - all of my herbs got some overspray by a brainless 20 year old that was staining my deck. I had cut them down to about nothing afterwards, but I wonder if this could be some residual stain that was left in the soil and worked its way into the plant?

If it really is stain, you should probably not eat that parsley....

I have not seen brown-edged parsley like that, but could it be cold damage?

i'm with megan on this one. esp if you think there might be some residual poisons left behind on the plant.

i wouldn't even compost it if i thought it had poisons applied to it - even inadvertently.

I hate to suggest you rip out perfectly good parsley if there's no good reason to do so.... but the whole stain thing worries me. I think back to a time when I was about 10 yo or thereabouts; my mom was (is) very active in bridge card games and she had prepared some celery sticks to go with a dip. I'd just seen a science show and decided to add some blue food coloring to the water the celery sticks were soaking in. You know the rest..... Laughing
