Hey Boffer, I finally got my chicken tractor
Well, not exactly. I took it upon myself to put the bug cover from my boxes in my front flower bed (that was actually a weed patch this year) and brought 2 of my chickens up for a work party. It was fun trying to hold a chicken & rooster while trying to lift the corner of the box so I could stick them under there.
Maybe it will shame DH into making me a proper chicken tractor.
Actually, I can't complain. He is working on plans for a potting shed/greenhouse of my very own. I guess it's a fair enough trade for not having a chicken tractor.

What a great idea. And the compost they are adding is a big benefit.

yep, he's an amazing guy & his chicken tractor is top of the line. Don't you just love chickens?
Re: Hey Boffer, I finally got my chicken tractor
Hi Dixie,
I remember in the springtime, when you were adding stuff to your honey-do list, that no mortal man stood a chance of ever finding the end of it!
I'm with J.B.: an hour here to put on wheels, an hour there to put in a pop door, and you'll have a nice chicken tractor.
You should keep that greenhouse on the top of the priority list!
Re: Hey Boffer, I finally got my chicken tractor
At least I didn't name our property "Honey-Do Acres". There's a place just down the road that claimed it first & they have a big arched sign over the driveway. Our joke is me always saying "all you have to do is....."
Regarding chicken tractor
LOL, Dixie. I think we should take care to keep Boffer away from our husbands. Mine says my favorite phrase is, "Honey, this won't take any time at all for you to do."
I SO want a chicken tractor but I haven't convinced hubby it won't take any time at all for him to make one.
Love your chickens.

My chicken ark is on plans for this winter. We don't have chickens yet, but I'm ordering them close to spring. I'm shooting for 6 of them. A couple Silkies, some Wyandottes, and some Plymouth Rocks or Buff Orpingtons (can't decide on that). I'm so excited for them I can hardly stand it!!

Aug.....Good luck on the chickens.
I've always wanted some but never had the good luck to get any.
I know you'll love having them.

Great name for a country estate! LOL! At least I am not the one always coming up with the things for my DH to build. He does it all on his own and has a list of projects a mile long. He will see something in a magazine or catalogue and say......"I could build one of those! I just need a mig welder (or whatever the perfect tool would be) and I could do that for next to nothing!" And he could too. A chicken tractor and a greenhouse are both on HIS list for next spring. Not sure when he is going to find the time but that's okay.
Acara, I love your sick sense of humour. LOL! I think the Colonel should have a little more of an evil smile on his face though.
