It has been a rough week, but she is doing well. The ICU nurse said she is doing Spectacularly Well considering her age and what she has been through. They were able to take her off the ventilator this afternoon with no problems. She has a really long way to go, but she's a strong & stubborn lady. I really appreciate your thoughts & prayers for us.

So glad for the good news, Dixie. My husband is an ICU nurse and I've heard him say many times that successfully getting people off the vent is a big step toward recovery.

Well, God has worked another miracle - she's sitting in her bed in a regular room working a crossword puzzle. Her 82nd birthday is tomorrow & when the doc asked her what she wanted, she grinned & said "out of here".

Thanks to all of you for your concern & prayers.

Truly inspiring , to hear about someone in their 80's with such spirit. Hope I can be like that ! also hope they let her go home soon, sounds like she is ready to get out of that place !
