Welcome to the Forums Homeschoolmom! We're glad you found us. SFG is a perfect project for homeschoolers. You already have the container gardening down pat. Just wait till you see the results with Mel's Mix and the fun of planting and replanting the squares.

Keep coming back. Ask questions. Offer input. We'll be watching for your results.

Again, welcome new sfg gardener Icon_cheers new sfg gardener Icon_cheers new sfg gardener Icon_cheers

new sfg gardener Empty thanks for the welcome

Post  homeschoolmom 3/15/2010, 10:11 am

I am an gardener.........not a computer person! Just wanted to say thanks for those that responded to my "Welcome Mat" comment. I grew up in Middle TN, in the country. We've always had gardens, veg. and flowers, my grandparents and all great grandparents that I can remember. I love the outdoors and can't wait to get my hands dirty. I was marrried and now divorced to someone that did not like gardening. We still live in md. tn and I've had to do any gardening by myself. Someone suggested old tires. It worked. My children and I have planted strawberries, pickling cucumbers, tomotoes, watermelons and lots of flowers for the past few years. We've all been reading studying and shopping for materials for our new sfg. We plan on making a small box to start with (if I can figure out how to work a drill) and see how it goes. Your pictures and comments are great encouragements! Thanks!

new sfg gardener Empty Welcome to SGQ

If I can wield a drill, anyone can so you'll do fine.
I was new to SGQ last year and am learning by leaps and bounds.
This year I made a few changes to suit me better, but its still SFQ all the way.
Welcome!
