First meal from the garden!
So, this afternoon the kids and I were out in the garden doing a little bit of harvesting! YAY! For supper tonight, we had our first meal with major ingredients from the garden. My kids all love this soup and loved it even more since it came from their own back yard! I had to fight them off of the leftovers in order to save some for DH, who was still at work when we ate dinner.
Humble offerings.... my spinach tried this year, really it did, but between the rabbits and the heat, it had a hard time... this is what I got from one square of spinach, then I pulled the plants entirely. I got one perfect head of broccoli, about 4 inches wide with tight florets, and another 2-days-past-its-prime head and several side shoots. My scallions are starting to form bulbs... oops... delish, none-the-less!
Add some simple ingredients from the pantry:
Throw in one homemade, fresh-from-the-oven boule:
and VOILA! Dinner is served!

That first meal is so exciting. Looks really good. Now all you have to do is get your own goats so you can make the cheese yourself!
Recipe?
Would you post the recipe, please? That looks SO good.
