I hate to admit it, but even building square boxes with no bottoms has been a challenge for me. This does not come naturally. Since March I have been planning a trellis and could not wrap my head around what I needed to do. Every time I went to HD to look at PVC I would end up way too confused to purchase anything.

My pumpkin didn't care about my problems and kept growing so I had to act. I did find some 10' X 1" PVC pipe behind the shed so I hacked off a 4' piece from each and started from there. Well it is done! It ain't pretty, but it's done. Good dang thing too b/c the pumpkin is up to my chin. And I do not know if cascading down the back side of the trellis will simply break the stem. Live and learn. I wanted to do an arch for it to climb over but that is way beyond my design skills at this point.

On an odd note. My Early Girl is producing lots of tomatoes, but is only about a foot high. Whatever, I'll take the tomatoes!

Chopper -- your garden looks great! I understand the confusion. I did that a lot with the watering issues. But look at what you have done! You got through it and it will only be easier as time goes by.

Great job! Building Challenged, The Trellis Tales 832433

Megan: that's why I gave you a hard time about getting your husband to build a box. Believe me, if I can do it, anyone can. LOL. The main thing is IT'S DONE!

Yahoo, pat yourself on the back!!

Tonight I just put in about 30 more feet of irrigation. I am a dirty, dirty, water-soaked girl! LOL.... Almost done, I just have to figure out where to park / trellis the tomatillos so I can figure out which tube to pull water for them!
