From Russia with love
Hello,
since we are doing the intros, let's do it properly.
I am from Odessa Ukraine, have been in USA since 1997 and in Atlanta since 2000. I started my SFG 8 days ago. So far it's been lots of fun, though not without sweat and calluses . I am guessing this is normal for the start.
Well, my beds are complete with frames and nets as of early afternoon today, and we have planted a bunch of things, all of them from seed. Since we started late this season, might as well experiment a bit.
So far things have been popping out here and there, and today, we sowed our last batch of plants - fiesta carrots, those multicolor types that are fun for kids, and some french radishes.
I already love my garden, and run out the door first thing in the morning to check on my "babies". Kid loves it, too, and I constantly show her what new and exciting is going on in there.
Biggest annoyance so far - mosquito bites. They just turn into a messy drama on my skin for some reason, and I even had to put some ice on them yesterday because they were driving me nuts
Other than that, SFG is a joy!

This says (and I am not sure it this is what was meant to be said) "My daughter's husband is from Moscow, and I am studying russian to be able to speak to to his mother(?). I have a long way to go. Enjoy SFG"
Re: From Russia with love
My best friend is from Ukraine, as well -- from near Kiev. She is living vicariously through me, as she and her husband live in a small flat, so she comes over and puts her fingers in the soil in my SFG!
