Onions. Walk on?

Onions. Walk on?
I was interested in walking onions. My notes from last year say that the onions in this square are walking onions, though I don't know if they're "Egyptian Walking Onions" nor do I remember how I found them.
This square is pretty filled in. I think I would like to expand my population to another square, or maybe even another box.
So should I be dividing them up to transplant, or hoping that they'll grow little clove trees later in the year?

Re: Onions. Walk on?
Clove trees? Pretty good description.
I periodically will pull up one with lots of "pups", break off what I want, and stick the remaining clump back in the MM.
2-30-22 We dumped the beds on plastic because the house was being tented. It was 2 weeks at least before I could tackle the project of thinning and replanting. Just showing how stupidly durable walking onions are.
PS: This is what this former lawn area looked like a year later.
A replanting done in 9-14-16
Grown from a bulbil 9-24-19
Way overgrown because I had a broken shoulder healing. Tackled the job in 12-23.

Re: Onions. Walk on?
From my experience, they should be called Jogging Onions, not Walking Onions!
