Second Life for Determinate Tomatoes?
Can a Determinate Tomato plant have a second life? I am growing Tumbling Tom red & yellow tomatoes in hanging baskets in the greenhouse, and they are nearly done producing fruit. I have been trimming off branches once they no longer have fruit and start drying up. Now the plants are sending up new suckers from the main stalk in the basket. I wonder if these suckers will offer a second life to the plants, and start producing fruit? Normally once a determinate tomato is done producing I remove it, and put something else in its place. But, I am going to let these suckers grow and see what they turn into. We have really enjoyed all of the cherry tomatoes off of these plants.

Yes, I'm sure determinate tomatoes can have a second life. Are you going to cut off the thick stems that are hanging over the basket?
Where I live, I get 2 flushes and only pull them out when I am tired of tending them and am ready to put in a relaxing winter crop. It just depends on the latitude and regional climate.

Yes, the one on the right in the picture has already been cut off. The one on the left still has tomatoes on it, so it won't be cut off until the tomatoes are harvested.
