Read the New SFG book early this Spring and since I just purchased a new home; decided to 'go for it' and have a kitchen herb garden! My (adult) son built me the 4'x4' bed, covered the bottom with both wire and weed cloth protection, helped get the ingredients for the Mel's Mix stirred then added to the box and built me a protective wire cover for the whole thing. (Hey, I have free labor who skimmed the "building" chapter ... I'm not going to complain or 'suggest' him out of helping! LoL)

I didn't start the herbs from seed, these were plants purchased from the Farmers Market and a couple of different greenhouses. Here are two pictures:
