Hello, everyone! I'm a first time gardener, newly moved from a small Los Angeles townhouse to a home in an SF East Bay community with a 1/3 acre yard, so I thought I'd make some use of this space and try my hand at gardening. I've read the ANSFG from front to back but still have a few questions. Can't wait to get started!

Hi East Bay, Welcome to the Forum from central California. I think East Bay means hot summers, correct?
