Hello one and all! I am brand new to gardening. Thanks so much for having me. I beg forgiveness in advance for all the stupid questions I plan to ask!

I have a 4' x 12' area tarped off to kill the grass, and I've ordered some white metal roofing to build a nice pretty box. I've built two 55-gallon compost tumblers, and my work trailer is piling up with bags of compost and vermiculite, whilst I search for a deal on some peat.

My Visa card is melting to a puddle.

In my kitchen window there are 14 little pots with tiny vegetable sprouts in them, because I bought some heritage seeds and I simply can't wait to see SOMETHING growing SOMEWHERE.

This is gonna be SO much fun! Thanks again for letting me in the group!!

Hi Gene. Welcome from Atlanta, GA! Glad you've joined our party!

You might look in the archives (search button in upper left corner) & in your tropical area from the home page for some wonderful threads. Also look for dstack's posts. He's in your general area & has some GREAT advice!

Thanks Marie. I had not yet discovered the "coastal and tropical South" sub forum. And I'll be watching for dstack!

Welcome to the fold, Gene!  Glad you are here, us northern folks are getting ready for a big slow down, so we get to live vicariously through all of you guys during the cold months here!

Take lots of notes, you will learn so much every year!  And every season is different.
