Is this Mint or a Weed?
Here is another plant that I found after cleaning out my overgrown, former herb bed. According to PlantNet, this is Cat-Mint. I think I planted Catnip years ago, but don't recall planting any mint. I am thinking this may be a weed but I did not pull it on the chance it is something good.
Again, Thanks in advance

That looks like Catnip, which is a member of the Mint family. I make sure not to allow it around any of my raised beds since the neighborhood cats love to roll in it. We made a mistake of planting a couple plants of it in the flower bed under the Birch trees, and it now has taken over the entire bed.

Thank you OG. I believe I planted some of that at one point. For some reason I thought catnip grew more like a grass.

You may be thinking of cat grass (oat grass or wheat grass). I think cat mint and catnip are the same thing, but I could be wrong. You can always tell a mint by its stem -- mint stems are square.ralitaco wrote:Thank you OG. I believe I planted some of that at one point. For some reason I thought catnip grew more like a grass.

I definitely had no idea that mint stems were square - WOW!!!

Agree, and if it’s in the ground it is very invasive in my experience.

Thank you both. It is not in the ground, but I may pull it anyway.
