I need to use or give away some of that frozen pesto from last year, because this year’s basil and scapes are happening!

sanderson wrote:How is the heat?
A little warmer than a regular Jalapeno, but not too hot to comfortably to eat with the cheese stuffing. It has a Scoville heat unit rating of 4,000 - 6,000, whereas a regular Jalapeno has a SHU rating of 2,500 - 5,000. So, it is mid-range heat. One of the nice thing about them is that they are larger, about 4" to 5" long, and have a thicker flesh.

Scorpio Rising wrote:My jalapeño peppers are always way hotter than the Scoville scale—same with my Ancho (Poblano) peppers. I wonder why that is?
Hot, dry weather causes the peppers to get hotter. My Jalapenos are the mildest this year that they have ever been because of the non-stop rains.

Love to hear it! This year I am going to try something new - growing potatoes, both white and sweet, in containers using the free 20 gallon cattle lick tubs that I inherited last fall. Can't wait to see how they do in those tubs.

I will be watching to see how this goes, OG. Potatoes are a space hog in my SFG.
