cucumber beetles
Seems now I have more uninvited guests into my garden. Both spotted and striped cucumber beetle have found my squash plants. They are quick at getting away when they know you are after them. They prefer my squash to my cucumbers. I've seen the sticky traps but they are going to get anything that gets near them or is that my only choice. Tried DE and that doesn't seem to bother them too much unless I bury them in it. Of course it rains every three or four days now and I have to reapply the DE. Any effective means to rid myself of these new invaders?

Re: cucumber beetles
I go out with a take-out soup container half full of soapy water (it does have to be soapy.) I put it underneath before reaching for them and they drop in, and drown (without the soap they do not.) It's organic, but it's not an exceptionally effective method.
