Tryst with my first DIY SFG in India
Setting up my box at home
Initial setup
Current setup.
I do lost some plants in germination due to heat etc (i hope)
But still its going with all fun
I yet to add a Trellis, planning with upvc pipe and nylon threading.
Re: Tryst with my first DIY SFG in India
Looking good, rajmahendra. Before you know it, the box will be full to overflowing.
Keep the pictures coming.

Raj, that looks WONDERFUL! The bees will love your corn...
Looks like you have a curious onlooker in the background. It will be great to see others following your example.

Raj, It is great that other people are watching your Tryst. You are setting an example.
Re: Tryst with my first DIY SFG in India
O very nice! Roof top gardens are such a great idea.
Are there enough bees up that high to pollinate the cucumber flowers or will you do that by hand?

I am enjoying your updates and pictures, Raj. We are all cheering you on here. Have you managed to eat anything yet?
I still remember the first radish I ever grew. It was perfect and tasted delicious.

Your plants look so healthy. They are doing so well. Nice trellis too. I should make one of those for my Sfg.

Re: Tryst with my first DIY SFG in India
Yes I first plan to buy UPVC but i choose 2 10foot CPVC pipe and nylon thread.Mimi2 wrote:Your plants look so healthy. They are doing so well. Nice trellis too. I should make one of those for my Sfg.
First i put holes on cpvc pipe to connect the thread but later got idea of just circle around two poles vertically and horizontal intersect the vertical thread. As of now its quiet strong and holding the cucumber better.
Its easy for me to move the thread if plants are not properly reaching etc.
Re: Tryst with my first DIY SFG in India
Looks very nice Raj. I am not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I am concerned about your trellis. The plants can get very heavy when it is full and also when the plants cover the trellis their leaves may make it susceptible to the wind.
1. How is it secured to the box?
2. Do you have anything in place to keep it from falling over (either forwards onto the other plants or backwards onto the roof)?
good luck
