I frequently have observed that "missed " potatoes can grow and thrive the following year.

I wonder if it would be worthwhile to plant some left-over small, home-grown seed potatoes in the fall?

Picked a few beans off of the Blue Lake Pole Beans on the arbor. These are my late season bean plants, and they are just starting to produce.

In addition to bell peppers, banana peppers, tomatoes, and squash, picked some more green beans this evening - a 3-gallon bowl nearly full of them.

Pulled the rest of the summer carrots, about a bushel of them. Most of them will be sliced and frozen. Picked some sweet banana and bell peppers, and green beans.

I just picked the biggest haul of peppers that I can remember!  I have 3 plants of Big Red, and 2 early Jalapeños—just crazy haul!  Making and giving Cowboy Candy for Christmas, and will can some straight pickled jalapeños for eating and recipes, and will be able to freeze some too!

I will freeze some of the red bells, as well as make some frozen “Unstuffed Pepper Casserole” that will taste great this winter.

OG, How do you freeze your carrots? Peel, slice and vacuum seal? Or also blanche and chill?

Yes, they are blanched and then dumped in ice water to chill them before freezing. Most aren't peeled, just scrubbed, with peeling just for ones that have "imperfect" growth area, then sliced.

Pulled a few fall carrots for dinner this evening. These were planted on August 3rd, and these are first that are big enough to pull. We'll be pulling a few at a time from now until late November or early December.

Found two more beans and picked some green tomatoes.  Yesterday, I pulled quite a few potatoes, and have a couple or three pounds more to go.  There may be two more small ears of corn.  Unfortunately, Mr. 4-point buck took care of my tomatillos.

It took my one small Cherokee Purple (that was dislodged by Mr. 4-point buck) a month to ripen indoors, but it's now ready for consumption.

I have 2-4 Romanesco squash struggling to survive under cover until sufficient maturity.

Harvested the Waltham Butternut Squash today, 26 of them. After they were all cut off the vines, and loaded into the wheelbarrow, they were laid out in the greenhouse to cure for a couple weeks.  If we eat one a week, these will last us until next May. okay
