Do you know this worm??
Every once in a while I see a big glob of caterpillars. Often on a tree or the side of our shed. When I do I usually spray them or sweep them to the ground and stomp on them but I do not kn ow what they are. A friend posted a picture of them so I thought I would ask you gardening pro's if ya know what they are. I am pretty sure they aint bag worms but dont know.

I'm not from your neck of the woods so I have no reasonable answer. Have you contacted your local Extension Service to ask?

Not yet but I shudda I bug them enough already and this aint my problem at the moment so I didn't contact them yet.

Some kind of tent caterpillar. ?? Drown in a container of soapy water.

We have the Western tent caterpillar, so there must be a few varieties in No. America.

I told my friend it was some type of tent caterpillar, aka bag worm and he said what ever they were they were dead. he nuked them with malathion
