No visible damage on the house that I can see.  My car already had mild hail damage, will be going shopping in a few minutes and will get a better view.

Goosegirl wrote:GreatGranny:  Sounds like you missed the worst of it as well!  Our last Severe T-Storm Warning ended at 11 PM, last of our Tornado Warnings ended 8:30.  My garden has some slightly flattened bean plants but nothing severe.

We are now in a cooling trend so I worked in the yard for 2 hours straight this morning.  Got out the bow saw and cut down 4 volunteer saplings sprouting up around the house and yard.  Then I cleaned up some of the wild growth I let get out of control in one of my flower beds.  THEN I pulled up the weed cloth and the jungle it was harboring around my 3 big boxes.  I originally laid the weed cloth and covered it with shredded cedar mulch 5 years ago when I made my boxes.  As you all can imagine, after 5 years some of that mulch has composted and the weed seeds that blow in could grow in it nicely!  I separated (as much as possible) the weeds and roots from the mulch, raked the mulch fairly level, then covered it with the shingles I scored last year from our local lumber yard.  I now have clean walkways around my boxes and a shingle-wide mow strip around the outside edge of that entire garden area.  Next week I will try for the back boxed area..............stay tuned!
Whew, you are making me tired just listening to all you have done today.  I did the mowing with the rider (about 1 1/2 acres) and I was a sorry mess.  Tomorrow or Monday will be the weed whipping and regular mower for trimming.  If I get all that done, I will cheer.  We have had so much rain this year that I just can't get caught up.

Greatgranny, Again, you put some of us to shame with the amount of work you got done.

The same sunflowers in my front/side/corner flower bed that are attracting bees are also attracting and feeding goldfinches!  My cats are just mesmerized by them.  They will spend hours sitting in the window intently watching them.  They are just so cute - the birds and the cats!

Funny, GG, I have a bunch of volunteer sunflowers from my birdfeeder that I didn't have the heart to,pull, and they are very popular with the pollinators, and as they mature, the goldfinches! So pretty!

Scorpio - I have a bunch of volunteers in my backyard where my compost bin used to be - I did not have the heart to pull them either!  They are just starting to bloom now and I am sure they will be the next course for the goldfinches.

Still picking salad greens, kale doing really well, I should be able to pick the first cucumbers later this week.  Peppers and toms are so so; we have had way too much rain.
