I got my new compost tumbler. Side benefit... what a great way to mix Mel's Mix. I was in the process of dumping peat moss onto a tarp for mixing when my wife stepped out the back door and said hey why don't you use this new thing to mix that together. What a back saver. Already worth the cost.

How does one remove the Mel's Mix or compost from the tumbler?  Other than lifting it up and dumping it?

You can rotate it and dump it right on the ground or as I did it rotates 1/4 turn and locks into place and I just shoveled it out.

Here's a video on it.

Katjohn,

Unfortunately, I have different models with small doors, so shoveling is out, and dumping is awkward.  Thanks for your reply, though.

Yea this one is huge. 80 gallon size with about a 3' x 3' opening.

I have one with a sliding panel that is hard to shift.  I am not complaining as it was a gift.
