Mid-At: Mar 2014 - Are You Excited?
I know this is early, but I'm preparing for the Maryland Home & Garden Show so I had two options: 1) Post early; 2) Post in mid-March. I chose Option 2.
So is everyone excited about the potential of Spring? I'm SO happy for the break in the weather although there is still snow piled up in places. This has been a MISERABLE winter and I've got to tell you I'm ready for it to end. I've even been looking into moving farther South and/or West upon hubby's retirement.
I've got to tell you something funny (well tragic for me). I couldn't figure out why my stuff wasn't growing under a nice plastic cover. THEN it hit me that it was the cling film you put on your windows to keep sun OUT!
If you're in the area and interested, here's some info about the show:
For anyone in the Timonium, Maryland area, just North of Baltimore off of I-83 come on down (or up . . . or across). Here are the dates and times H&G SCHEDULE. If you PM your address to me I can send you $2 off coupons.
I'll be at booth #1033 and I'll be giving a seminar on vertical gardening on Sun., Mar. 2 at 11 AM and again on Fri., Mar. 7 at 2 PM.

I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle

That would be a good addition to this thread

Working a booth at a trade show is hard work. Here's hoping the show is productive for you.
Potential of spring
Is there really a potential of spring, it is back down to the twenty's here in central Pa dropping to the teens. The only potential I see here occurs in June or July.

Yeah, it looks like I will delay my spring garden this year. I usually direct seed peas and lettuce by march 15, but I haven't even been able to prepare the beds due to cold and snow. We usually have early summers here in maryland, so a spring crop is questionable this year! Oh well, we can always count on hot summers!
