Gee, Gina, if the twins survive prematurity, you'll have a giant! Looks like they're Siamese twins....

Hi Donna
Siamese, haa..  I'm interested to see what'll happen because as tiny as they are, the one on the left is already dominating the other.  My half baked guess is it will flower earlier and the other will shrivel away.  Who knows?

I'm seeing them on just about every store bought squash plant this year, not the seeded ones.  This one is an unusual one in that all the others at least show a bit of definition between 2 stems even tho they are melded together.  But not this one.  Two heads and that's it: It's twins ; ) 100_8215

lm, was yours a store bought plant or seeded?

CC  mine were seeded kind of late out in the garden. Interesting picture you posted. Thanks for sharing it.

I didn't see anything like twins last year (my first) and didn't know it was common either...and maybe it's not. Like this year on the Cape everyone's blue hydrangeas have pink & purple in them for the first time. Something musta come down in all that snow we had. pale

LM: it was from another gardening site I visit. I thought it was funny to see twins in two days! Curious to see how yours develop!

Gina,

Do your remember the double mint chewing gum commercial from years gone by?

Double your pleasure... double you fun...... It can all come true with twins lol!

I had twin cucumbers a couple of weeks ago and thought it to be really odd.

I had twins on my yellow crookneck squash that was growing like the pic SG posted but it was around the time that we got alot of rain and it got black fungus on it so I didn't get to harvest it. But hubby and I enjoyed watching it grow for a while.
