My son will be getting married in a few weeks and they're planning to have a "home-style" reception, where the food for the reception is all homemade and not catered. All home recipes.... delicious things which give you that warm feeling of home. Anyway, last weekend, we made 400 or 500 meatballs, and I put up 7 quarts of Boston Baked beans, this weekend, I put up another 7 quarts... probably will do the same next weekend. Right now, I've got a bit over 3 gallons, and I figure if the guests don't eat it all, my family and I can enjoy them over the summer with all of the rest of the great garden produce! They take an hour and thirty-five minutes to process the quarts, plus the 3 and a half hours of cooking time, and the boiling and waiting... it takes 8 hours from start to finish for the recipe to be completed. Which is why it so great to put these up this time of year... cool enough to have the heat on for that long...I cannot imagine doing this in July or August.

They are delicious, and I cannot wait to get into them. Yum.

Sure... I'll put it under Vegies and side dishes.... although it is just the recipe from the Ball book.
