While we wait for the holidays and the colder weather, how is everyone in the Mid South spending their gardening time?

Are you...
still harvesting?
still planting?
working on new beds?
drooling over seed catalogs?

Hopefully this will give some of us ideas before it gets too cold to act on them. Smile

Still harvesting bell peppers and banana peppers. They came back strong after going dormant during the summer. Just finished bulding another raised 4x4. We planted it (seeds) with lettuce, spinach, mache, carrots, turnip and mustard greens, and arugula. We have been cutting quite a bit of different lettuces which were planted about a month ago (seedlings). We wish we would have planted a few more. We have covered everything with Agribon 19 to extend the season, but it only has gotten down to the high thirties. The almost new 4x4 box we planted with mostly seeds and with a few seedlings is doing real well even though its getting more shade than I would like. When the leaves finsh falling, it will be getting more sun. When we planted the cabbages and brocholi during the spring, they didn't do too well, but the fall plantings seem to be a lot larger. We're still waitng to see cabbage heads and brocholi heads. Hopefully the few frosts we will be getting soon will be handled by the Agribon and whatever else we will cover it with (plastic?). We ust finished another week in the 80's but it will be a little cooler this week. Although we've had to pluck out a few weeds, we haven't had any pests yet, even in the 4x13 we just covered yesterday.
