Today I went out and attempted to stake my crookneck squash plant. I ended up trimming a bit off the bottom and found there were small, mushy veggies that weren't growing. How does this look?

A good effort start that looks like it might work. The small mushy squash may be where it didn't get pollinated properly and died off. They do that.

Be sure to show pics of the next layer of growth as you keep pinning it to the stake.

Be careful what you use to tie it up with, you might want something thicker or softer so it doesn't cut through the stem when the weight of the squash pulls down the plant. Looks good though, I tried staking my squash last year and failed miserably!
