Sorry I don't have a pic, but there were some bugs I saw in my garden over the weekend that I am trying to ID and I was hoping someone might be able to lend a hand.
Here is the description, hopefully it is not too vague. It looked almost like a green lacewing except that the body was black and it had a shorter (though still slightly elongated) abdomen. It didn't fly as fast and nimbly as a lacewing, it was more of a flutter like a butterfly.
I easily caught one out of the air and when stationary its wings folded also looked almost like a lacewing, only shorter.

Thoughts?

Could it possibly be a May Fly?

Thanks for getting back to me.
Nope, it was all black and didn't have the parts sticking out from the abdomen. Also, the head seemed a little smaller.

I was almost thinking some kind of ant but I didn't get a long enough look at it as my daughter needed my attention.

I was doing a little research on the Web last night and I thought they might have been sciarid flies, but I'm not sure the size matches up. From what I remember reading, sciarid flies are about 1-2mm in length, but these were closer to about 1/4 - 1/3 of an inch.
