Home Depot Kids Workshop May 5...Free Planter Box and a Bonnie Plant to grow in it.
This might be of interest to those here who have kids.
Home Depot is having a free kids workshop tomorrow May 5 between 9am and 12 am at all its locations nationwide.
http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/catalog/servlet/ContentView?pn=HT_WS_KidsWorkshops
Kids who attend will be able to build their own planter box and receive a free Bonnie Vegetable or Herb to grow in it.
They will also be able to register their Bonnie Plant with Bonnie Plants Growums.com program....a kid focused website that will provides free instructional cartoons on how to grow their Bonnie Plant and other stuff like gardening related games.

My boys would LOVE to do this, so I'll call the local store to see if they still have room for two more.

Thanks Daniel! If the school's garden project gets rained out tomorrow, we are going to Home Depot!!

I need to borrow a 5-12 year old! I just looked at the website and the workshop is for age 5-12 if anyone is interested. Mine is only 2 and a half and while I understand that there is no way he would cooperate with making the project I wish they were doing it for younger kids too. Such a cute idea!

Darn, just saw this post. Alex would have had a blast! Humm, PaPa may have to help him make a box for his house! Maybe one that is custom made to fit a liner...an apt. isn't the place for leaks lol..
Of course, Alex helps me. I think He would enjoy something at home to...humm maybe just one of the self watering flower boxes. He has a south picture window so could grow some radishes and lettuce.
