I have the Atlantic giant pumpkin seeds too, I had started some early in the greenhouse, and I put them out to early, we had 3 nights that turned off cold with frost and it killed them, but I had two more plants and I replanted and they are doing fine. I have them planted in their own SFG with straw on the ground around them.

I have some more of those TOP BANANA AWARDS.... Big Stuff - Page 3 0489

Josh, Sorry you lost the first pumpkin seeds, but your current plants are looking great! The vines are going to be huge I can't wait to see how well this works. My area is having very low 40 degree temps so I can't move mine outdoors yet. This is going to be so much fun and test my nerves .....little blueberry bushes are sending me over the edge already! rofl

New layer of humiliation - this morning I found tomato volunteers peeking out of my carrot box. Still no carrot sprouts.....I don't THINK I dreamed planting 3 different types, totalling 12 square feet of carrots.....

Here's my giant cabbage report:
I started if from seed, this is it April 6th
Big Stuff - Page 3 Bigstuff2

This is it April 26th
Big Stuff - Page 3 Cabbageapril262012

I planted it in a large flower pot in 100% Mel's Mix. I buried the flower pot about 1/2 way in the ground so it wouldn't turn over.

This is it May 20th

Big Stuff - Page 3 Cabbage5-20-2012

And this is it today May 31st
Big Stuff - Page 3 Cabbage5-31-12

It's just now starting to form a head.

How about the rest of you, got any BIG STUFF?

Hi Josh ,

I've got garlic standing over three feet tall and still no sign of bulbing up . Just eaten some four inch long carrots tonight as sweet and crunchy as can be with no sign of woodiness.

Might have a few rather large Wink carrots on the way and some very large exhibition onions that are just starting to show signs of bulb swell time will tell , as we are almost a month behind the normal seasons weather. Some how I also have a few giant cabbags & humungous long runner beans as well Laughing .

I'm not going to rush out and take pictures as its almost 21.00 hrs and chucking it down with large drops of liquid sunshine..... again !

Pictures will be taken after we get back from a very long weekend away attending various royal celebrations for our Queens 60 years reign

We can't seem to get our mammoth sunflowers to sprout, let alone get big. Not sure whether it's going to happen any more, since it's in the 90s most days now. Any input will be greatly appreciated!

On the left by the peas ( hundreds of them across a three foot wide bed on 9 plants )to their right are the three foot tall garlic .. they got hammered again last night in the heavy strong wind driven rain storm that left us with six or seven power cuts overnight and over four inches of water in the wheel barrow this morning ..

Big Stuff - Page 3 GardenJune062

Potatoes in a growing system in my glasshouse using MM & TLC .. they are pressing the roof and are a tad over five feet tall ... the MM is just over three feet deep & has been added in 3 inch layers .

Big Stuff - Page 3 GardenJune056

Giant runner beans on a 10 foot high frame .. waiting for Jack and summer to really get going upwards.. They should produce bean pods over 15 inches long with inch long kidney beans if I'm lucky .
