Onion advice needed
I think I need to do something with my sweet onions.

Lift the clumps out, separate them and replant. Give them a little dusting of bone meal if you like.

Thanks camp.
I did that this AM...from 6 starter plants in 2' x 6", they became 25 plants! 20 of them now run 8' x 6" long (most of the box) and 5 more are tucked into corners of squares that will have a bigger plant in the middle.
They look lovely.
My mother would have a fit (she's allergic to onions).
How about this...that box was to be brassicas & alliums. The brassica seeds never responded (6 different plants). Do I replant for cole crops or use the empty boxes for something summer bound? Will the cole plants (starter plants) there now live through the summer and be useful next yaer or should I expect to pull them?
I'd really like for them to produce something to eat before/if I have to remove them.

I'm not sure I'd replant with cool weather crops in those squares at this point (in your climate). I think I'd replant with something for summer.

Okay...I won't reseed the empty boxes.
Now the existing plants...do they stay or get pulled out come the July fry*?
*That's when our lovely cool cloud cover is burned off and the heat pours in!
