looking for compost in central ohio!
I'm having a hard time finding anything other than cow. Any ideas? I saw that WalMart has lots of different kinds listed online, but they don't have any in stock at the stores - do they usually stock soon?

Re: looking for compost in central ohio!
Central Ohio is kind of broad, but I live in Delaware and I've gotten compost from a place just west of here called Price Farms Organics. They have blends called Barnyard Cafe and Zoo Brew that they sell by the bag. They also have mushroom and leaf compost that they don't sell by the bag but last year they sold them to be by the 5 gallon bucket (which is 3/4 cf) for I think $2 a bucket. If they are close to you, definitely check them out. I'm very happy with the compost, especially the barnyard, seems to be nicely composted and rich smelling.

Re: looking for compost in central ohio!
Thanks! I picked up some of the mushroom compost today from Schacht. It smelled...odd. Like burning rubber. I have no idea if that's right!
Price sounds great, but that's a heck of a drive. I probably need to do it though, I read that they are selling barnyard and zoo mix in 1.5 cu ft bags now for $3.03/bag which is a great price.
Thanks so much to both of you for the tips!

I'm a 20 minute drive south of Schacht's if you are ever up for bringing your own garbage pail and want to shovel up your own free llama manure, DiannaMarie that goes for you too and other central ohioans. Scoobadoo is another and Igolfat8. If there are others out there that I have forgotten you are also included. If interested PM me to work out details.

Thanks! I have no idea how to do anything with manure yet, but once I get it all figured out I might take you up on that!

Wouldn't Oakland Nurseries be a good source for compost since they are one of the largest nurseries in Central Ohio.
