New to SF gardening
Hello All. My name is Marianne..I don't really have a green thumb (all my previous attempts at gardening have failed miserably) but after reading about SFG, I decided and am determined to give it another try. I have two raised beds 3x6 with a small 3x3 addition to each one. I live in zone 8b (Paso Robles, CA). I am looking forward to as much advice and help as possible. Thanks

Welcome to the forum. I'm too far north to offer you much advice, but those in your area are bound to chime in if you pose a question.
Generally speaking, this is the easiest way to garden for young and old alike. Enjoy.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.
I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle

Welcome
If you haven't done so already, please be sure to buy the book "All New Square Foot Gardening" (2006), as it has all the backbone of information that you'll need.
One of the most important things is to NOT skimp on your ingredients, as there is a solid and sound reason behind the correct blend.

Re: New to SF gardening
Look for the central & northern CA section of the forum. There is some excellent info there for your area.
Also if you have gophers like I do, put wire bottoms an all your boxes. I had my first successful garden last year using SFG with wirw bottoms on all boxes and planted a few extra things in gopher cages.
