A couple questions about my potted blueberries.
Hi All,
I planted two different dwarf blueberries (1 Top Hat and 1 Northblue) in large (I think 6 gal) pots of MM, mulched w/ coarse compost. I'll post a few pics of them below, and first I was just wondering if those pots are big enough for them to stay in, or if I should move them into something bigger while they're still dormant? Secondly, hopefully you'll be able to see in the pics that the deer were kind enough to "prune" one of the plants (I think the Top Hat), lol. I was just wondering if that will significantly impair the plant's growth or harvest, or if it will just keep putting out new stems etc? Any advice/thoughts would be really appreciated! Thanks.
Mike

Mike,
I did the same thing with 6 blueberry plants ranging from 3-5 y/o. Mine are back outside on the patio now, in containers waiting to be relocated this Spring! We may each need to amend the MM because blueberries need an acidic soil to thrive.
The pots appear large enough, and if you raise the bushes higher and add a couple more inches of MM under they'll have more soil for their shallow roots to cling to.
