wall of flowers
If you take this idea from this....post
and if you take this idea from this....post
Put them together and I got this...
this was a family project
I made all the recycled self watering flower pots from soda bottles
my dad fastened them to the wood palate
my mom planted the flowers in them
Thank you to peanutgallery and trukrebew for the great ideas

Re: wall of flowers
Looks great Josh! Please post a middle of the season picture and a late season picture. Your wall of flowers should be even more pretty and I would like to see it. I have an ugly fence that could use some help. Do you make house calls? hee, hee

Wow! That's lovely! You're so creative I showed my husband, but he wasn't terribly excited about building one for me *giggle*

Re: wall of flowers
Ha-v-v if you click on this...instructions..it is a link to how to make the soda bottle self watering pots
and If you click on this....wall...it is a link to some pictures of some plants hanging on a wall
I don't know why but the links are in black when I post it, and they don't show up good so its hard to tell they are links, but just click on those two words and they will take you to the other post.

Re: wall of flowers
I missed this thread way back in May. All I can say is that it looks fantastic, Josh! That wall of flowers is a nice way to dress up a bare spot. I think you deserve a recycling award, too.
To think that a stumbling SFG rookie like me could inspire the Teen Wizard of SFG is quite humbling!

Hey Josh,
Your wall of flowers has had most of the summer to grow, can we get an update picture. Thanks in advance.

Re: wall of flowers
Thanks trukrebew!
Patty from Yorktown, here is what it looked like on July 7th.
Since then the petunias sorta just died out, so I replaced those pots with new flowers, and since I was planting some fall crops I planted some vegetables in some of the pots.
I'll take a picture tomorrow of what it looks like now.

Re: wall of flowers
Here is a picture I took today
In the middle row I planted a cucumber, red lettuce and butter crunch lettuce and a red cabbage. I'll keep you posted how they do,if they do good, I may plant more vegetables in it next year, herbs too.
Here's a closer look at the vegetables
I also grew a purple pepper in one of the pots, it has white and green leaves and the peppers turn from red to purple. Some of the leaves are missing and I found a snail eating them.

Re: wall of flowers
Josh, I am so impressed with what you have done! You have inspired me to give this a try on my fence next year next to my SFG. Some herbs would work well in some of those containers and the kind of plants that slugs love would be perfect as well.
Thank you so much!!
