raised beds for artichokes? Empty raised beds for artichokes?

Thank you for the clarification. You said you'd recommend not growing them in SFG boxes, but would it be possible to grow them in other forms of container gardening? I was thinking raised beds, what would the depth of the boxes have to be?

Location : Boyne City Michigan (gardening zone 5; short growing season....mild and cool climate...hot summers, but much milder than summers in tropical gardening zones)

The taproot of a globe artichoke plant is normally between 4 and 6 feet deep. Probably not ideal for pots but maybe raised beds would be fine.
