green beans are best when smaller around than your little finger. In your sfg, pick the largest one you find, break it open. The forming beans should be quite tiny. If they are beginning to look about the size of a black-eye pea, it's already getting old and "pithy." From your picture, I'd say, "Pick 'em now." Congrats on some nice looking plants, too. Nonna
