So you think you have a green thumb....
But have any of you managed to grow a tomato plant in concrete? I have never had to water this plant, and you can see that it has fruit. I'll be interested to see if the 'maters ripen, although I sure as hell won't eat them. (Refer back to: I have never had to water this plant!
Admittedly, I didn't actually plant this outside the back door of the restaurant, but the crazy thing is, this is the third year in a row one grew in the same place. This is the first time it had flowers and then actual tomatoes, though.
Alright - ready?

Wow! Just think what it would do if given optimal conditions.
When the fruit is ripe, I would venture to have a taste. You may be surprised.

I'm not worried about the taste - I'm worried about what has been feeding it!

Back side of a restaurant? Hmmm....I'm thinking you could have fried green tomatoes without putting any oil or butter in the pan!
Re: So you think you have a green thumb....
now why didn't I think of that?

Inevitably every year i get some free sprouting mater plants (usually because I get lazy late in the season when it comes to removing some of the fallen fruit). One of my best producing plants this year sprouted that way.
I have a couple growing near the wood pile. Seems to like it there.

Haahaahaa! Ive got some plants growing in some RANDOM areas also, like the 6A pea rock on the side of the house that literally has NO dirt, or limited under it? Ive not watered it either but its thriving :/

Every year a zinnia grows in a different area in my yard. I planted them once and have not seen them in that bed since. They were my mom's favorite flower so whenever I see it I say "hi mom"
