West Virginia, Virginia (the western Appalachian region), Kentucky, Ohio (Cincinnati region), Indiana (far southern quarter) Arkansas (a thin northern strip), Missouri (the south edge), Oklahoma (northern half)
Gardening
season ranges from 180 to 210 days with hot (86 degrees average) humid
summers. Last frost is generally sometime in April with the exception
of the Mountain areas which can have frost into May. First frost can be
expected in October with the exception of higher elevations in West
Virginia. Much of the winter precipitation comes as rain, not snow.
