Newbie with list of fears Empty Newbi here with my list of fears!

Newbie with list of fears Empty nickiefriend Today at 9:57 am

ok, so I am worried about everything in my garden (even though I problably have no reason to be) I dont think my tomatoes are growing fast enough, even though they have blooms, some of my green peppers dont look much bigger than when I planted them and dont look as green as they should (in my opinion), I feel like there is something I should be doing to my onions, my cuke plants look the same as the day that I planted them (roughly two weeks ago), my green beans (both bush and pole) are up but to me they look a little on the yellow side and not so much green. I am freaking out here! affraid

Am I being too big a scary cat? Or is it possible I have not got my mix just right? I bought blood meal today, but now I am afraid to use it lol!

So talk me down off of the ledge or just push me off please!

eta I posted this originally in the wrong place and moved it here.

Never fear Underdog is here lolol "SFG" that is Smile If it were me I would take a look at maybe giving them a little boost with something natural, blood meal like you have. (I have used it and have it in my shed) or in my case some of my compost I made last year and some worm castings I bought. I sprinkle it around the base of the plant so when I water it will just go down to the roots. When transplants are put in the ground it takes them a while to adjust to new surroundings. (Takes me a minute myself to adjust too ) lolol One other thing I keep in my arsenal of a "fast food" is epsom salts added to what ever I feed them. Hope this helps and have fun Smile

I put some of the blood meal around one of my tomatoes and 4 of my pepper plants to see if it would help and not hurt! I am hoping that it takes care of the problem, if there was a problem Smile)))

Those two weeks, your new plants are trying to figure out where they are, what happened, and why their toes hurt. Once they realize they are in a friendly, nutritious place (which should be anytime now), they should start taking off. I'd probably give them another week, and then give them a little pick-me-up to help them get going if they haven't at that point. Very Happy

....Nudge..... Razz

Just kidding. You are fine. You are nervous like the rest of us are when we can't see the plant visibly growing while we are staring directly at it and yelling at it to grow!

As Miss M said, there is a lot going on beneath the soil that you aren't able to see. Once the roots investigate their new, spacious castle, they will signal upstairs that it's time to take off. Cooler weather is a factor, too.

When it's time to grow, the veggies will go.
